Dr. (Mrs.) Shashikala Gurpur is the Director of Symbiosis Law School, Pune and the Dean - Faculty of Law of the University, Pune since 2007. She holds a Ph.D. in International Law from University of Mysore, Karnataka State Government Award, Gold Medal for topping in LL.M and was the AHRB Visiting Fellow, Edinburgh Law School, UK (2004), selected for Fulbright-Nehru Administrators Seminar, 2011.Prior to 2007.

Faculty of Law courses have been developed in consultation with the legal profession and other key stakeholders to ensure students gain practical, work-ready skills, underpinned by a strong foundation of law, legal theory and professional training.

Critical thinking, Ethics, Global outlook, Self-management are some of the characteristics and skills which are developed in students.

Industry Engagement

The Faculty of Law regularly hosts networking events and career seminars and actively consults with professional bodies on emerging trends and needs in legal profession. The Faculty of Laws' excellent relationships with the industry and community are facilitated through its institutes, which support, develop and promote activities in existing or emerging fields of strategic relevance and importance.
