Indian Students

Admission to various Postgraduate Degree Programmes is through the following steps:
  Entrance Test          PI-WAT

As of the academic year of 2014-15, Symbiosis International University will have a centralised admissions process for the benefit and convenience of all candidates applying to various post graduate programmes at the University.

Admission to MBA Programmes

For admission to post graduate programmes commencing in the academic year of 2014-15, Symbiosis International University will have a centralised admissions process for the benefit and convenience of all candidates applying to various post graduate programmes at the University.

Candidates applying to post graduate programmes other than an MBA degree will be able to read about the application process in national newspapers shortly.

Candidates seeking admission to an MBA programme offered by a constituent institute of Symbiosis International University must be aware of the following:

1 A candidate's cumulative score is calculated on 3 criterion:
  a. Previous Academic Profile (Marks obtained for exams at 10th, 12th and Graduation)
  b. SNAP score
  c. Marks obtained during the PI-WAT process
2 A candidate must register and pay for the 2013 SNAP Test.
3. Subsequent to this, the candidate must register for the programme(s) of his/her choice and pay the registration fee based on the number of programmes chosen. There is no limit for the number of programmes a candidate may register for.
4. After taking the SNAP test, a candidate is shortlisted for the Personal Interaction and Written Ability Test (PI-WAT) process based on the percentile calculated from point 1, parts a and b.
5. The Personal Interaction and Written Ability Test make up the final part of the candidate's cumulative score.
6. Based on total marks obtained, the University will release the final merit list of candidates who will be eligible for an offer to an MBA programme.
7. For understanding the detailed process of admission to various MBA programmes, including calculation of scores, payment methods, registration and other pertinent details, candidates are urged to read the 2013 Admissions Bulletin

Terminology:
Merit List: Calculated as a sum of the Academic Profile score, SNAP test score and PI-WAT process score.

Academic Profile (10 points): Marks obtained by a candidate from examinations at (a) X, (b) XII and (c) undergraduate degree level. AP = (a*1) + (b*1.5) + (c*2.5).

SNAP Test (40 points): Refers to the Symbiosis National Aptitude Test, a mandatory examination and step 1 of the admissions process for admission to MBA programmes at Symbiosis International University. The test is marked out of 180 points, with the final score being scaled down to 40.

PI-WAT (50 points): Refers to Personal Interaction and Written Ability Test. Maximum score for the PI-WAT is 50.

35 marks have been allotted for Personal Interaction (PI).

15 marks have been allotted for the Written Ability Test (WAT). It consists of two parts: Part A: Writing Skills: 10 marks and Part B: Creativity and Critical Thinking: 10 marks. Part A + Part B = 10+10 = 20 marks to be scaled down to 15 marks.

SNAP Test

Candidates applying for MBA programmes will have to undertake the Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP), whichis conducted by the Symbiosis Test Secretariat (STS). The SNAP test is held at several cities across India on the third Sunday of December every year.
