Instruction to the Alumni's attending VIII CONVOCATION on 3rd December 2011.


A. Transport

Reach University Campus before 9.00 am

Transportation is arranged from SIMS Kirkee Campus to University campus, Lavale. Please make yourself available at the right time to avail the service.

Transport Timings: 06.30 am to 08.00 am

Note: Please avail the transport facility instead of bringing your own vehicle to avoid parking problems at the Lavale campus. In case if you bring your vehicle please park your vehicle at the Symbiosis Institute of Technology (SIT) (Foothills), Lavale and take a Campus Shuttle service to reach University campus.

Shuttle service is available from 07.00 am till 09.00 am. Reach before 8.45 am to avail shuttle service.

B. At University Campus

Immediately after reaching University Campus at Lavale, Please proceed towards the Academic Block - collect your gowns and lunch coupons from the class rooms allotted for the purpose.
Deposit your cell phones & bags in your allotted class room. Cell Phones & Bags are not allowed in the convocation hall due to security reasons
Following stalls are available in the academic block -
   
    • 1. Visit Symbiosis SOUVENIR Stall to Purchase items on payment.
    2. Food stalls are available for the refreshment on payment.
    3. All the candidates can collect the packed lunch from the Food stalls against the coupons     issued while collecting the gowns.
Reach the convocation venue after putting the gown before 10.00 am.
  • All gold medal awardees are to report to Dr. Jagdip Kaur, Associate Dean, Student Affairs, SIRI Building near SIU office for the official photograph with the Chief Guest.
After convocation, collect your certificates after depositing the gowns at the respective classrooms between 01.00 pm to 02.00 pm.
  • Please check the changes in the Bus timings if any, for departure from the campus notice boards (displayed near Academic Block) Timings for departure: 2.00 pm to 03.00 pm.


C. Instructions during Convocation ceremony

  • Be seated in the Pendal by 10.00 am.
  • When procession enters the Pendal please rise and be seated after the chief Guest takes seat on the dais.
  • At the time of conferment of the Degrees, Diplomas, alumni’s of the SIU please rise. And after conferment please be seated silently.
At the time of reading exhortation by Hon’ble Chancellor, please rise.
  • Leave the Pendal only after the departure of the Chief Guest.
